Philips Research Grant
The purpose of this annual Grant (one to be awarded in 2019 and another in 2020) which is proudly supported by Philips is to facilitate a project in the field of sleep research for an emerging investigator who is a member of the ASA. Applicants should be actively working in sleep research or a clinical sleep discipline and have completed their post graduate training but be less than ten years post doctorate (PhD or equivalent). The grant could be used to support staff, direct research costs or equipment for a discreet sleep research project or as seed funding to collect pilot data to facilitate a larger body of work of importance to the field of sleep medicine. It should not be used for travel. The work must be undertaken in Australia or New Zealand. The successful applicant will provide a report at the completion of research project for which this grant was used for inclusion in the ASA newsletter and website. The award cannot be made to an individual more than once. The maximum amount awarded for each project is AUD $40,000. Funds for this Grant should go directly to support the recipient's research and be exempt from any Institutional Levy.
Successful applicants are encouraged to present any research resulting from the Phillips/ASA Sleep Research Grant at the Annual Sleep Down Under conference. Acknowledgement of support on any presentations or publications arising from the Phillips/ASA Sleep Research Grant is required.
Applications are accepted up to 30th April 2020
